Come and join us,
Your Church by the Ocean

Sundays at 9 am.

ALOHA - We welcome all who worship with us.  If you do not have a church home, we  invite you with aloha to become part of the Hokuloa Church Ohana.  We hope our visitors will choose to worship with us again when visiting in the area or "zooming" in for Sunday Service.

Hokuloa  United Church of Christ is in covenant with the National United Church of Christ,
a mainline Protestant Christian denomination.

No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here
If the service inspires you, please come again. If you are seeking a church home,

we welcome you into the Hokuloa Church ‘ohana.

The Mission Statement of Hokuloa Church is:

To follow Christ in our walk with God and each other - celebrating the traditions of our faith and the unique gifts of our Hawai'ian heritage, sharing our aloha with neighbors near and far, and renewing ourselves and the earth by grace-filled living and giving.

UCC General Synod Affirms Dignity of Trans Persons

To huge cheers, and also many tears, the United Church of Christ’s 34th General Synod overwhelmingly approved a resolution affirming the dignity of trans and nonbinary persons.

The final count of the July 4 vote was 633 in favor and 10 against, with six abstaining. The resolution “reaffirms the historic commitment of this church to recognize and affirm that every human being is created in the image of God and is due respect for their inherent human dignity and rights so that they may not only survive but thrive.” It further encourages “all settings of the church, working with local partners, to advocate for the full legal equality of transgender, nonbinary and gender diverse persons.”

A recent Religion News Service article explored how trans individuals in the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian faiths search for their gender identity brought them closer to God.
